Jude Maverick

I only use this thing when I'm in a weird mood.

I'm not really unhappy, honest! I mean if I slow down long enough to think about it, I do get scared, but I don't do that very often.

I jsut seem to write on this when I do.

[Jude's voice is quiet - he sounds shaken.]

Humanity as a species... we're not inherently bad, right? People are good, for the most part.

Right?

[The recording continues for perhaps fifteen seconds after that, and then ends with a rustling and a sharp click.]

There's a lot about this place that I don't understand.

What I REALLY don't get is why people destroy beautiful things just to have destroyed them. "Elmina" can talk about how it was "war" that messed this place up so bad, but "war" can't pull the trigger of a gun. Only a person can do that. Somebody knew that statue was in that temple and they SHOT ITS HEAD OFF.

But even so, flowers still grew there. And it was still pretty, even after we fought those soldiers there. I wonder if Elmina ended up drawing anything after all? (I really should have gone with Rudy as the name I used on here, now it's going to look like I love her or something... I mean, she's nice, but I'm not old enough for that kind of stuff!) Maybe she'll show everybody, eventually. (If "Zed" ever stops acting like he's younger than I am, maybe. He's really a jerk sometimes...)

The Shift key on this seems to be working again... I guess getting knocked over and landing mostly on this thing knocked it back into place!

I thought writing in this could help me keep things straight so I'd remember them when I saw Mom again, but I can't seem to organize my thoughts at all. Maybe I should've tried to write about this yesterday? I still don't know why I jumped in to fight like I did, and I don't understand why that's "something to be proud of"...

Oh well. I should probably be asleep! Maybe things will make sense TOMORROW.

the food tastes awful going down and like something DIED AND THEN THREW UP ON ITSELF AND THEN STARTED DECOMPOSING AT AN ACCELERATED RATE coming back up.

AND IF YOU'RE NOT EVEN ON THE SAME PLANET AS ME AND WOULD NEVER GO THERE THEN HOW THE HECK ARE YOU READING THIS?!?!?!?!?!

Let's face it - it'll be needed no matter where the kid ends up.
